TORRINGTON
HISTORY
Torrington is the first major town in
Wyoming ("major" in Wyoming means more than about 500 people, I
think!) on the CB&Q on its line through Casper. Though it isn't
represented on the layout, I've collected enough interesting images to
warrant giving the town its own page.

This
is the Torrington Depot about 1908. Interesting features are the
big windmill that pumps water into the big water tank it stands
behind, and the semaphore signal at the station. Farther in the
distance is the coaling tower.

This
rather grainy photo is Torrington in the late 1920s. Fortunately,
Torrington seems to have changed a great deal since this picture
was taken, as you can see in the photo on the main History page. |
